Gazprom Neft sells refined products such as gasoline, jet fuel, diesel fuel, motor oils, bitumens, and other petroleum products manufactured by its own companies on wholesale and retail markets.
The high quality of products and expanded distribution network are the driving forces behind the Company's leading position on the domestic petroleum products market. Total sales of petroleum products by Gazprom Neft in Russia and the CIS countries reached 18.3 mln tons in 2009, a 13% increase from the 2008 level.
The company plans to expand its distribution network and increase its share of the domestic and international petroleum products markets through continuous investments in the modernization of refining facilities and the expansion of the network of gas stations.
Sales structure
Gazprom Neft sells most of its petroleum products in Russia through 25 subsidiaries. Fourteen of them are retail distribution companies selling petroleum products both wholesale and retail through filling stations.
The Company has four distribution entities within the custom union: Gazprom Neft-Kazakhstan LLP, Gazprom Neft-Tajikistan LLC, Gazprom Neft Asia LLC in Kyrgyzstan, and Gazprom Neft-Belnefteprodukt FLLC in Belarus. In 2009 they sold 1,071,000 tonnes of petroleum products.
Three special business units sell individual kinds of petroleum products: CJSC Gazprom Neft-Aero, jet fuel; Gazprom Neft-Lubricants LLC, oils and lubricants; Gazprom Neft Marine Bunker LLC, bunker fuels. Each of these companies operates in various regions of Russia, the CIS and non-CIS countries. In 2009 these companies sold 9.8 million tonnes of petroleum products in premium segments (a 40 per cent increase).
Gazprom Neft-Marine Bunker was one of the leaders of the domestic bunker market in 2009. The company sells marine fuels at 22 Russian ports, including all major ports: in the Northwest (St. Petersburg, Primorsk, Ust-Luga, Murmansk, Kaliningrad, Arkhangelsk), the Far East (Vladivostok, Nakhodka, Vostochny), the Black Sea (Novorossiysk, Caucasus, Tuapse), and inland waterways (Rostov-on-Don, Yaroslavl, Moscow, Kazan).
Gazprom Neft-Aero sells jet fuel (fuels aircraft) by retail at Sheremetyevo, Domodedovo, and Pulkovo airports, as well as the airports of Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk, Murmansk, Tomsk, Kemerovo, Bryansk, and Chita. Gazprom Neft-Aero is among the leaders in terms of jet fuel retail sales at Russian airports based on the 2009 results,
Gazprom Neft-Lubricants is the only vertically integrated manufacturer of oils in Russia. It owns production assets in Western Siberia (Omsk), the European part of Russia (Yaroslavl), and Western Europe (Bari, Italy). The total sales of standard products by Gazprom Neft-Lubricants LLC in 2009 increased by 170 per cent, while sales of premium products grew by 240 per cent.
