Gazprom Neft has established a new production centre in Eastern Siberia, which one of the Company’s strategic focuses. A geological study on the Chona project is currently underway covering three fields (the Ignyalinskoye Tympuchanskoye and Vakunayskoye fields) located on the boundary between the Irkutsk region and the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). Total reserves in the Chona project are estimated at 125 million tonnes of oil and 225 billion cubic meters of gas. Gazprom Neft is working with JOGMEC of Japan on the Ignyalinskoye study and operating independently on the remaining two fields.
The 3D seismic survey conducted on the three fields in 2013 covered 500 square kilometres, while 2,500 kilometres of electronic investigation work was performed, four exploratory wells were drilled and four existing wells re-examined.
