The Gazprom Neft Cup has transformed into a major international youth hockey tournament. I believe that I am not exaggerating when I say that these exciting contests have become the European club championship for kids aged 10-11 years.
In 2014, for the first time the games will go beyond the Russian city of Omsk, and will be hosted by the Belarussian city of Minsk. This will help promote sports-based cooperation between our two countries. In addition, the young hockey players will have the chance to play on one of the arenas built for the 2014 Ice Hockey World Championship.
We are delighted that each year, more and more boys who play hockey are able to take part in such a major, beautiful event. I am certain that the 8th Gazprom Neft Cup will be an unforgettable experience for players and fans alike.
