In the first game of the 9th Gazprom Neft Cup, Avangard hockey players masterfully beat Novosibirsk Sibir with a score of 7:0. From the very beginning of the game, the “little hawks” seized the initiative and by the eighteenth minute they were up by three goals. Daniel Kulyash, number 29, son Avangard adult’s team defender Denis Kulyash, scored two goals. During the remaining time until the end of the game, the Omsk team not only kept a clean sheet, but crowned the meeting with a devastating score of 7:0. The second battle of the “little hawks” will take place today at 19:30 (Omsk time), when in the opening game of the Gazprom Neft Cup they will face Ak Bars (Kazan).
Avangard’s forward Daniel Kulyash was named the Omsk team’s Player of the Game. The deliverer of the double goal said:
“I scored twice, I am happy how we played, the team won. We all played well and we won the game. I enjoyed it! We’re in good shape, ready for the evening game, but a bit nervous — the stands will be full!”
Daniel’s father, Denis Kulyash, watched the game together with his family from the stands of the Omsk Arena. He was very energetic in supporting his son and happy with every goal the “little hawks” scored:
“It was a very important first game for our team at the tournament. It was obvious that the boys are so excited about playing. It’s great they managed to be a single team and win. Watching the game, I had an incredible feeling — as a hockey player, as a fan and as a father, of course. I am very happy for Danny, but the tournament has just begun and we still have a lot of work to do! Do I give my son some advice? At home I can no doubt suggest something, but I never interfere with the training process, the head coach takes care of the team, he knows best what to do and how.”
