On Monday, April 27, St Petersburg will host the end of the Gazprom Neft Cup’s West Group stage. The deciding game will take place in the Ice Palace and will begin at 18:30, Moscow time.
So far there are four children’s teams vying for the right to compete in the home arena of the strongest club in the KHL. In the West Group semi-finals, to be held in the morning at the Yubileyny Sports Palace, are Dynamo (Moscow) — CSKA (Moscow) and Lokomotiv (Yaroslavl) — Vityaz (Moscow Region).
This is the first time that St Petersburg is hosting the Gazprom Neft Cup games. All the participants have noted the high level of organization of the tournament, and of course the beauty of Russia’s northern capital. During the opening ceremony on Saturday, the Ice Palace hosted about 6,000 people!
On Monday, the day of the West Group’s final game, entry to the stands will be free as on the previous days. Honoured guests of Gazprom Neft Cup — USSR Master of Sport Vladimir Yurzinov Sr, and hockey expert Alexander Khavanov — will be there to award the title to the winners. The game will be broadcast live on KHL TV.
We await St Petersburg residents and guests in the Ice Palace at 18:30!
