The Yugra-2005 team has nearly twice as many good luck charms as it does players. But in the run-up to Gazprom Neft Cup, the biggest tournament so far in these young hockey players’ careers, the team isn’t counting on luck alone. From the beginning of January, the Yugra players have been on a special training regime, with a significantly higher number of test games. Practice proceeds not only under the watchful eye of the team coaches, but also under the supervision of the mascot of the ’adult’ Yugra team — the mammoth Parkhom. The participant in the KHL Stars Game is sure that his today’s charges are guaranteed to mature into the new stars of Russian hockey.
