The Super Final of the ninth Gazprom Neft Cup KHL Kids Hockey Tournament has finished in Omsk.
The big day kicked off with a performance from the popular band IOWA, who took to the stage an hour before the opening face-off. By that time, there were already more than 7,000 fans in Omsk Arena to support their teams. Most of the crowd, of course, was rooting for Avangard Omsk, but there was a small group in the blue-and-white colours of Dynamo, most of them friends and family of the young Moscow players.
The game itself lived up to expectations: plenty of hard battles and great dedication from both teams. The only thing lacking was a close scoreline. Dynamo Moscow calmly controlled every play from its opponent and pressed the ‘hawks’ back to their own net before taking their chances.
In the first period, Alexander Legkov opened the scoring, then Makar Klochkov scored a hat-trick. In the end, Dynamo beat Avangard 4:0 to lift the Gazprom Neft Cup. These young hockey players will surely remember this triumph for the rest of their lives!
