Closed preview of an expertise documentary "The Vertical" was held on May 13, 200914.05.2009"The Vertical" is a special project by Channel 5 and Boris Dedenev's creative team ("D-Square Studio"). The film was made with support of JSC CBC Okhta and represents an expert research of Okhta Center cultural and business district project, which within two recent years has been subject to fierce public disputes.
"The Vertical" describes social and cultural perspectives of St. Petersburg in the context of this project realization. The documentary presents positions and points of view of CBC Okhta investors, public opinion leaders, culture and art representatives, residents of the city; it also demonstrates the results of landscape and visual analysis researching Okhta Center's impact on the historical center of the city. The running time of the movie makes 23 minutes.
- With this documentary, we would like to demonstrate not only a high social and economic significance of Okhta Center for our city, but to provide the mainstream audience with complete information on the details of the project including the impact of Okhta's tower focus on the existing architectural landscape of the city. We are confident that preservation of both the historical center of St. Petersburg and cultural inheritance of our city requires construction of such a public and business district, - the movie director Boris Dedenev said.
Closed preview of the documentary "The Vertical" was held in the Jim Hall Cinema. The audience was representational of members of the Journalists' League, members of the Public Council of St. Petersburg, cultural figures, members of the Press Committee and others.
