Swedish Ambassador familiarized himself with archeological findings on the territory of "Okhta Center" planned construction site.

The Ambassador of Sweden in Russia Thomas Bertelman visited today the planned construction site of "Okhta Center".

Company representatives from "Social and business center "Okhta" told to the guests about preparations to the construction, which included large-scale archeological researches on the territory of ancient fortress Nienschanz.

Project initiators attach great significance to the archeological researches. It is planned to place first Archeological museum in Saint-Petersburg on the territory of "Okhta Center". It will exhibit all findings, discovered by archeological expeditions at Malaya Okhta and other historical regions of Saint-Petersburg and its precincts. These researches are financed by "Social and business center "Okhta". There were no such large-scale researches in Saint-Petersburg. Detailed research of first settlements history became possible just with the beginning of preparation to the construction of social and business district.

Archeological researches at the construction site of "Okhta Center" performed by Saint-Petersburg expedition under the supervision of the Director of North-Eastern institute "Heritage" Petr Sorokin.

Ambassador of Sweden in Russia Tomas Bertelman: "The history was always fabulous and I think that something outstanding happening here. It is a very good idea that all findings and items reminding about it will be kept together in one place".
