Leaders of Krasnogvardejskiy district familiarized with the progress of preparation to “Okhta Center” construction20.10.2008Delegation of Krasnogvardeyskiy district council headed by Maria Scherbakova, visited the construction site of "Okhta center". The representatives of district council were interested in specific aspects of project implementation, particularly, subjects of power supply, transport load, matters of security and ground tolerance for holding of high-level objects.
During the presentation general director of "Social and Business Center "Okhta" Nikolay Tanayev spoke about the progress of preparation to the construction and perspectives of district development in connection with creation of a new social and business center.
Guests were informed, that several independent researches confirmed possibility of tall building construction on Malaya Okhta. Adopted transport infrastructure development concept for the district stipulates, among, building of new subway stations and creation of additional routes of common user land transportation. In addition, a new schedule of engineer support foresees building of new Thermal Power Plant (TPP).
The head of Krasnogvardeyskiy district of Saint-Petersburg Maria Scherbakova noticed that project "Okhta center" will become a great inducement for the district development and creation a new environment in it, which complies with European life quality requirements.
We would like to remind, that the construction project of the social and business center is implemented in cooperation with city council and "Gazprom Neft" OJSC. 51% of costs for construction of "Okhta center" will be financed by "Gazprom Neft" and 49% by the city council. Ownership will be shared between the investors in accordance with the volume of financing.
According to the concept of the project, offices of "Gazprom" and its affiliates will take 16% of total area. 35% of floor space will carry social functions and the rest 49% will be given to business centers. There will be located theatre and concert hall, stadium, swimming pool, complex of gyms, linear park zones, cafes, restaurants on the territory of "Okhta center"; also there will be located the Museum of modern art and Archeological museum, the first in Saint-Petersburg, which will exhibit artifacts, discovered on Malaya Okhta and other historical parts of Saint-Petersburg and precincts.
