Administrative and Business Complex in the Krasnogvardeiskiy District of St. Petersburg Is Given the Name of Okhta Centre16.03.2007A meeting of the Commission for Implementation of Strategic Projects in St.Petersburg was held where it was announced that the administrative and business complex in the Krasnogvardeiskiy District of St.Petersburg will be named as the Okhta Centre.
Apart from office buildings, the Okhta Centre will comprise dwellings, shops, cafes, restaurants, a library and a sports complex with a swimming pool. Besides, the complex territory will be the area where a double-stage theatre, a sculpture park, a contemporary art center and a historical museum of St. Petersburg’s first settlements will be located
Chairpersons of the Commission for Implementation of Strategic Projects in St.Petersburg Alexei Miller and Valentina Matvienko revealed the financial structure of the projects whereby 51% of investments for the construction of the complex will be financed by JSC Gazprom Neft and 49% - by the city administration.
At the meeting Alexei Miller expressed his hope that the Okhta Centre will become “a modern architectural symbol of the city”.
