G-Energy Team finishes second in Sealine Cross Country Rally
On 25 April, Vladimir Vasilyev and Konstantin Zhiltsov of Russia’s G-Energy Team drove their BMW MINI ALL4 Racing car to second place in the 2014 Sealine Cross Country Rally in Qatar, the fourth round of the FIA World Cup for Cross Country Rallies. Having secured yet another medal position, the team retains the overall lead in the competition.
A total of 22 cars driven by the world’s best racing drivers took part in the Sealine Cross Country Rally. The Qatar rally’s rocky course makes the route particularly demanding. The Sealine rally is noted for having one of the largest proportions of special stages compared to the race’s overall mileage — 90% of the total 1,900 km are against the clock. Like the Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge, which took place earlier in April, this stage has been awarded a coefficient of two, meaning all points scored are doubled.
“The team is continuing to conquer the most challenging routes in the World Cup, thrilling fans of the sport with both their driving and navigation skills. In extreme conditions, it is especially important to use high-quality lubricants designed to protect against engine wear. The specially developed G-Energy Racing synthetic motor oils cope brilliantly with this environment”, said Alexander Trukhan, CEO Gazpromneft Lubricants.
G-Energy is Gazprom Neft’s premium brand of motor oils. G-Energy motor oils are designed for the latest European, American, and Japanese cars. The unique adaptive technology used in G-Energy motor oil provides enhanced performance characteristics by activating necessary additives, depending on the engine’s running mode. The oils are manufactured at Gazpromneft Lubricants’ facilities in Bari, Italy. In 2013, Gazpromneft Lubricants developed G-Energy Racing motor oil, a special product line for all types of racing engines. G-Energy Racing motor oils provide maximum protection against engine wear and efficiently guard engine parts against the formation of deposits. They maintain their performance characteristics even under peak racing conditions.
The World Cup for Cross Country Rallies is an annual series of international rally races organized by the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) for competitive drivers and teams from automobile manufacturers. Cross country rallies are multi-stage motorsport events that take place both off-road and on public roads.
