Gazprom Neft Press Office:
Late July — early August 2014 will see the Gazprom Neft retail network’s G-Drive Show hitting the cities of Chelyabinsk, Ekaterinburg, Nizhny Novgorod and Novosibirsk. The G-Drive Shows are major city-specific car shows, at which famous Russian and international racers demonstrate both their driving skills and the full potential of today’s sports cars.
The main event of the G-Drive Show is the driving demonstration by racing star Roman Rusinov, bronze medallist in the 2013 FIA WEC Endurance Championship. This Russian racer will be appearing in the same car in which the G-Drive Racing team have already enjoyed such a winning streak this season. The programme also includes ‘extreme motorsports’ and ‘drifting’ displays, an acrobatic show, and much more. In addition to this, residents and guests in the four Russian cities above will have the opportunity to see the legendary, current Formula 1 world champions Infiniti Red Bull Racing’s own car piloted by the youthful Carlos Sainz Jr.
The shows will also include the preliminary rounds of reality show Racers, to be broadcast on the Pyatnitsa (Friday) TV channel. Finalists, to be selected through a process of elimination over a series of go-karting trails, are likely to become the heroes of this TV project. The ultimate champion will have the opportunity to take part in a qualifying round of one of the most popular racing series, the VLN Endurance Championship, Nürburgring.
Alexander Kirillov, Regional Sales Director, Gazprom Neft and G-Drive Racing project leader, commented: “Thanks to the G-Drive Racing project our country has become a major player on the international motorsports arena. We are keen to engage extreme sports and speed fans in the compulsive world of major motorsports, and to that end are running this unique show for the second year. I have every confidence that viewers will appreciate the real value of this initiative and that G-Drive fuels will, once again, demonstrate their edge in performance.”
