Gazprom Neft has again supported the fifth “Management of the Future — 2016” conference, organised by the Graduate School of Management, St Petersburg State University, having become the official sponsor of this event. An interactive business game, examining “The Ideal Candidate” and led by Gazprom Neft specialists, formed part of this event.
The game involved students brainstorming to identify the key knowledge, skills and experience for specific roles selected from recent vacancies at Gazprom Neft. Company specialists, in turn, gave participants detailed feedback, discussing oil and gas companies’ current requirements from candidates.
The “Management of the Future” conference is an annual event, run by students of the Graduate School of Management, St Petersburg State university, highlighting the issues faced by young people looking for work in Russian companies. Delegates this year included Russian students from Moscow State University, Bauman Moscow State Technical University, the Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas, the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation and the universities of Tomsk and Ufa, as well as other major higher educational establishments in St Petersburg. Russian students at business schools throughout the United Kingdom, France, Austria, Germany, Italy, France and Singapore were also invited. In total, 100 of the best students from major cities throughout Russia and Europe took part.
Business games are a new and interactive format widely used by Gazprom Neft as part of its wide-ranging students and young-professionals employment programme.
Gazprom Neft is committed to developing its collaboration with higher educational institutions throughout Russia. The company is developing partnerships with leading higher educational institutions including the National Mineral Resources University (Mining University), St Petersburg, Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas, Moscow State University, the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, Ufimsky State Oil Technical University, Tomsk Polytechnic University, Omsk State Technical University, and others. Gazprom Neft foundation faculties are currently operating at three leading universities within Russia.
April 2015 saw the start of selection processes at the Peter the Great St Petersburg Polytechnic University for a two-year master’s programme on “Mathematical Modelling of Oil and Gas Production Processes”, to be held at the new Gazpromneft-Polytech scientific and educational complex.
Gazprom Neft has already been working closely with St Petersburg State University for a number of years, financing masters degrees in subsoil use regulation since 2014.Tags: career, students
