On July 17, 2009, a Strategic Cooperation Agreement covering various spheres including ecology, economic cooperation, improvement of the investment climate and solution of the region’s social problems was signed in Novy Sad (Serbia) between NIS and the Executive Council of Vojvodina. The document was signed by NIS CEO Kirill Kravchenko and the Chairman of the Executive Council Bojan Pajtic.
Based on the Strategic Cooperation Agreement, separate agreements with concrete cities and municipalities including Novy Sad, Kikinda, Pancevo, Novy Becej, Srbobran and Kanizh are to be signed in the nearest future.
NIS’ liabilities on implementing of sponsor and charitable projects in the region hold a specific place in the Agreement. The priorities in the context of charitable actions and sponsor projects will be given to sports, culture, science and fostering of new talents.
“With signing of the Strategic Cooperation Agreement NIS and Vojvodina enter a new stage of collaboration. The major part of NIS production capacities is located in Vojvodina, which has made a massive impact on the bilateral interest in the elaboration and extension of partnership relations. Development of NIS as the branch leader is only possible subject to responsible and considered attitude towards the society. The signed Agreement will build up effective organizational, economic and legal conditions for a long-term strategic cooperation with the Company's key region of activity”, NIS CEO Kirill Kravchenko said.
