Gazprom Neft Press Office:
JSC Gazprom Neft started construction of gas turbine power station at Yuzhno-Priobskoe fields that is developed by Gazpromneft-Khantos LLC.
The decision on construction of own power facilities at Priobskoe field is determined by growth of oil production volume and by increase in power consumption respectively that can amount to 100 MWt by 2010.
Besides, availability of proprietary power generating facilities directly at the field enables to reduce oil production cost, to balance shortage in power supply, to ensure reliable and continuous power supply to the production facilities of Yuzhno-Priobskoe field with regard to the planned increase in oil production volume.
Construction will be performed in two phases. Capacity of Phase 1 of the power station is 48 MWt. Feasibility of increase in capacity up to 96 MWt and later on up to 144 MWt is also foreseen in the project.
Phase 1 will be executed on the basis of four gas turbine power units with the nominal capacity of 12 MWt.
Phase 1 is planned to be commissioned in the second quarter of 2009; decision on commencement of construction of Phase 2 will be made in 2008.
Moreover, construction of power station is an integral part of comprehensive project of disposition of associated gas; Yuzhno-Priobsky GPZ LLC was established in cooperation with JSC SIBUR Holding for this purpose.
