Gazprom Neft Press Office:
In September 2007 a new oilfield in the territory of the Vorgenskiy license area situated in YNAD was discovered by JSC Gazprom Neft.
The new oilfield’s OOIP reserves are estimated at 90 million tons with oil bearing area exceeding 30 sq. km and an oil column measuring roughly 150 meters.
In April-June 2007 a 3101 meter-deep exploratory well No. 772 was drilled on the Vorgenskoye uplift. Testing in production casing produced oil gushing flow at the rate of 160 cu.m per day.
Besides, another 13 survey targets with saturation nature deemed to be potentially good for influx of hydrocarbons have been identified and prepared for testing on the basis of computer-processed data of geophysical surveys conducted in Lower Cretaceous deposits.
Generally, the Vorgenskiy license area recoverable reserves are estimated at 140 million tons.
During the next three years seismic shooting amounting 4400 line km and drilling of three exploratory wells will be conducted on the Vorgenskiy license area. Besides, exploration of the discovered field will be continued.
President of JSC Gazprom Neft Alexandr Dyukov says: “The Company is interested in dynamic expansion of its resource base and plans to increase exploration in all of its license areas”.
