Sustainable Development

Gazprom Neft recognises that sustainable development is crucial to the future prosperity of Russia as well as its business.

As a major taxpayer and employer Gazprom Neft plays a significant role in the development of the territories where it has a presence. The Company supports local economies as a major consumer, as well as investing in modernization and education programmes at each of its locations. Gazprom Neft also implements programmes to support health care, education and culture and establish social infrastructure in conjunction with local authorities.

As part of its dedication to sustainable development Gazprom Neft is committed to:

• raising the living standards of its employees and developing their potential;
• industrial and workplace safety;
• rational use of natural resources;
• reducing risks to the environment;
• furthering the social development of the regions where it has a presence.

Gazprom Neft has developed social responsibility programmes in line with the standards enshrined in international best practices. In 2007, the Company began supporting the “Children and Youth Support Programme”, “Regional Co-operation” and “Supporting Sport” social initiatives.

In 2008, Gazprom Neft formed a charity committee, which has enabled the Company to carry out its charitable activities more effectively. Thanks to the committee’s work, the Company has managed to reallocate resources to expand its own programmes, providing assistance to children’s homes, day schools, boarding schools, cultural institutions and administrations in the districts, cities and regions where the Company has a presence. In 2011Gazprom Neft developed a company-wide charity programme.

Gazprom Neft spent a total of RUB 1.44 billion on social projects in the regions in 2011, including RUB 1.403 billion on charitable programmes, as well as RUB 37 million on implementing the “Targeted Assistance Programme”.
