The Company and the Group's individual units sponsor kindergartens, schools and boarding schools in the regions, organise sporting events and parties for children, and support talented young people.
For example, the employees of the Omsk refinery (Gazprom Neft-Omsk Refinery) have sponsored child care centres in the region since 2007. In 2008 the refinery sponsored the purchase of furniture and equipment needed for kindergartens and a sports school in the village of Bolsherechye. OJSC Gazprom Neft-Ural financed the construction and opening of playgrounds for children in the cities of Irbit and Serov.
In 2009, With the support of Gazprom Neft-Vostok, school children from the Kargasoksky and Parabelsky Districts, Tomsk region, and Tarsky District in the Omsk region spent their holidays at children's vacation centres.
The Company places special emphasis on the support of sports for children and young people considered an investment in future healthy generations. The Annual Interregional Children's Ice Hockey Tournament for the Gazprom Neft Cup is a perfect example of this approach. The first tournament was held in Omsk in 2007 and supported by the government of Omsk Region. More than one hundred children from Tyumen, Omsk, Tomsk, Noyabrsk, Salekhard, and Khanty-Mansiysk took part in the tournament. By organizing the tournament, its sponsors met their goal of engaging as many young people as possible in sports, enhancing the popularity of ice hockey, and preparing teams for All-Russia competitions.
In 2008-2010 ice hockey tournaments were held in Khanty-Mansiysk, Salekhard and Omsk and welcomed more than 400 participants from different regions of the country.
In 2009 Gazprom Neft financed the reconstruction of a stadium in the city of Muravlenko, in particular, the replacement of the natural football field with artificial turf.
Gazprom Neft-Noyabrskneftegaz is a regular sponsor of children's sporting events in Noyabrsk, including the city indoor football championship among Noyabrsk school children and YANAO Cup motocross competitions.
