Gazprom Neft works constantly to improve industrial safety, environmental protection and health and safety standards. Spending on industrial, environmental and occupational safety measures exceeded RUB 41.7 billion in 2016 (excluding joint and foreign assets).
Gazprom Neft is committed to ensuring the safe production of its products and protecting the health and welfare of its workforce. Gazprom Neft endeavours to minimise the negative environmental impact of oil production and refining whilst ensuring its products meet high ecological standards.
The Company’s Sustainable Development Priority System
Energy conservation and improving consumption efficiency at the Company’s assets are top strategic priorities for Gazprom Neft. In 2013 Gazprom Neft approved a new energy policy. The policy, aimed at cutting the Company’s environmental impact, reducing the consumption of resources, and improving energy efficiency at Gazprom Neft, is based on the ISO 50001 international standard. Gazprom Neft has taken advantage of the leading international and domestic practices to efficiently manage consumption of energy resources through the implementation of modern production management tools.
Gazprom Neft is a major taxpayer and employer and plays a significant role in the development of the regions where it operates. Gazprom Neft’s social investment programme, Home Towns, will develop the city and social infrastructure of the regions where it operates. In 2016, total investment in the Home Towns initiative totalled RUB 4.1 billion.
Gazprom Neft remains focused on staff relations. One of its key principles is to provide employees with a broad range of opportunities for professional development. In 2016, Gazprom Neft invested RUB 707.2 billion in training. Over 52,000 employees took part in various training schemes.
