Gazprom Neft is one of the most attractive employers for students in Russia, according to research by employer branding agency Universum, with 22,600 Russian students (across more than 106 higher educational establishments) taking part in the “Russia’s Most Attractive Employer 2018” rankings, conducted between October 2017 and April 2018.
The company was ranked in second place in terms of its appeal to students of engineering and the natural sciences, and third for business and commerce, as well as being the only oil company listed among the 15 most attractive employers for IT students.
The energy industry was the most attractive, overall, for engineering and natural sciences students, with 19 percent of those questioned putting the industry in first place, citing the opportunities for professional development, high salaries, market success and secure employment offered by companies in this sector.
Gazprom Neft’s own HR statistics confirm the results of Universum’s research. Every year more than 1,600 Russian students undergo internships at enterprises throughout the company, with opportunities for development, the company’s market reputation, and teams’ professionalism being cited as the main factors in attracting jobseekers.
