The site of the Gazprom Neft industrial-automation Technopark was recently visited by Anjay Kumar Sharma, president of Indian consulting company Robert Davies Associates, with members of his delegation being given an introduction to educational practices (including new educational methodologies and interactive digital technologies) being implemented in close integration with higher education.
The key objective of the visit was to study experience in the professional training of qualified specialists for the oil industry. The Indian side is actively studying Russian practices in education and is looking for partners with whom to cooperate in training personnel with the appropriate skill level. The inclusion of Omsk in this introductory visit was no accident, being the location of the Gazprom Neft Omsk Refinery, one of Rusisa’s most modern and high-tech refining facilities.
Delegates visited Gazprom Neft subsidiary Avtomatika-Servis, which specialises in computer-integrated manufacturing and which provided the base for the industrial automation Technopark, opened in 2015. Guests had the enterprise’s activities described to them in detail, as well as the current specialist training programme and experience in integrating R&D activities with Omsk State Technical University, as well as other specialist higher educational institutions throughout Russia.
The visit was managed very much as a dialogue, with Andjay Kumar Sharma showing obvious interest in the young specialists, asking how difficult it was to combine study, research activities and work within the Technopark, before inviting representatives from the Technopark to make a return visit to India.
