Gazprom Neft to support specialist education and training at the New Economic School, Moscow
Gazprom Neft has signed an agreement with the New Economic School, Moscow (NES) on supporting its Masters in Energy Economics (MAEE) degree.
The programme will include theoretical and practical classes, taught by leading tenured professors at the NES, as well as invited lecturers, and industry specialists. Teaching will be mainly focussed on the specifics of working in a “real” sector of the economy, and on partnerships with leading specialist companies. The MAEE programme will produce multi-skilled specialists, with a knowledge not only of economics and finance, but also hands-on knowledge of energy and natural resources.
In its capacity as the titular sponsor of the NES’ 2018 energy education programme Gazprom Neft supports a considerable part of the MAEE programme, developing and improving its educational content, covering its monthly operating costs, and financing the recruitment of leading international professors and experts. The best students are to be awarded stipends as part of the programme, with the top first-year students being awarded a grant on the basis of their final examinations.
Kirill Kravchenko, Deputy CEO for Administrative Affairs, Gazprom Neft, commented: «We are interested in high-quality specialists who, as well as basic academic knowledge, also possess the practical skills essential to the energy industry. Collaboration with the New Economic School is one of the most important elements being implemented by Gazprom Neft in training highly qualified personnel, and many NES graduates are, already, successfully working in various departments within the company.»
NES Rector Shlomo Weber added: «Support like this is, above all, an important strategic investment in high-quality financial and economic education in the country, going forward. Thanks to Gazprom Neft, many talented applicants will be able to study at NES. Added to which, the company is one of the best employers in the market.»
