The first 2,250 users sign up to the Gazprom Neft “Professionals 4.0” platform
Gazprom Neft has completed its initial review of its Professionals 4.0 business-professional collaboration platform, with 2,250 users so far signing up to the project, and 49 cases, from nine partnering organisations, posted and the first pilot tasks completed.
Nine pilot tasks were launched prior to the platform’s official start-up date, the first of which have now been successfully completed. A debriefing on remaining tasks is planned for April. One of the first cases has involved reviewing and analysing the application of “flexible” organisational structures in product development and management solutions — the client in this case being Gazprom Neft and the “contractors” company employees.

According to Nikolai Dolgov, Development Director on the Professional 4.0 platform, “We’re seeing increasing interest in the platform from companies and talented professionals, which is directly reflected in the influx of participants. This is an open and transparent platform and, most importantly, is a manageable tool in finding professionals on a competitive market. Our plans include covering a still larger target audience, and engaging new companies and state agencies.”
Andrey Belevtsev, Director for Digital Transformation, Gazprom Neft, is confident that “The Professional 4.0 platform is having a direct impact on projects directed at the company’s digital transformation. Faced with large volumes of data and a long list of jobs to be done at every point in continuous production, the most important thing in good and effective implementation — people — is sometimes lacking. This platform means we can put cross-functional project implementation teams together fast. Knowing the contractors, and their skills, we can expect to speed up the solution development process which, in turn, keeps us ahead of the market in implementing digital transformation projects.”
Developers are now collecting feedback from participants and identifying areas for development, while concurrently working on the platform’s functionality and interface. As an ecosystem for developing talent, training and career development the project will become a starting point for new and flexible ways of doing business, in which efficiency is built on engagement and dialogue.
Professionals 4.0 is a new platform promoting collaboration between talented professionals and business, initiated by Gazprom Neft. The platform offers direct engagement via a website and mobile app, as well as online facilities for networking and professional development. Once registered, users can access its database to select tasks of interest to them. Partners including Sibur, Ruselectronics, Rostelecom, Rosseti, Moscow School of Management Skolkovo, and Ernst & Young are already involved in the project, as well as the Government of the Leningrad Oblast and the Strategic Consulting Centre.
The platform is being developed as an open project with the support of “Russia — Country of Opportunity” (an independent non-commercial organisation (NCO)) in collaboration with partners including SIBUR Holding, Ruselectronics, Rostelecom, Rosseti, the Administration of the Leningrad Oblast, and others. The project is unparalled in Russia — being a revolutionary model for engaging talented professionals in technological development in Russia’s real economy, whereby professionals can offer their knowledge and skills in working on clients’ cases without having to commit to working for an organisation full-time.
