Novoportovskoye is one of the largest fields of exploitable oil and gas condensates in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District. Recoverable C1 and C2 reserves are more than 250 million tonnes of oil and condensate, with over 320 billion cubic metres of gas (including the Palaeozoic strata). It is located in the south-east of a peninsular in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District, 250km north of the town of Nadym and 30km from the Gulf of Ob shore line.
Work on the infrastructure needed for full-scale operations is still ongoing. Oil will be shipped through a transfer complex at Cape Kamenny that should be completed by the end of 2015. The complex has an annual capacity of 8.5 million tonnes. The field and the terminal will be linked by a 100km pipeline.
The project operator, subsidiary Gazprom Neft Novy Port, completed pilot production drilling In 2013 and began full commercial drilling in 2014.
