Slavneft-Megionneftegaz to provide contact-free temperature screening stations for educational institutions in Megion

Slavneft-Megionneftegaz (a Gazprom Neft—Rosneft joint venture) has provided financing to buy and install modern contact-free temperature screening stations for educational institutions in Megion — this assistance being provided as part of its comprehensive company-wide “Antivirus” programme, consolidating best practices in combatting coronavirus.*

The programme, developed by Gazprom Neft for its assets and subsidiaries, covers not just anti-epidemiological preventative initiatives and effective barriers to protect employees’ health and ensure continuous production, but also support for those locations in which the company operates. Which is why, this year, Megionneftegaz has purchased PPE, medicines, antiseptics and disinfectants, equipment and materials for laboratory research, and ventilator components for the Megion District Hospital.

The importance and timeliness of this assistance has been noted by senior management at the local health authority on more than one occasion, with Megionneftegaz’ contribution to combatting the spread of coronavirus being highly appreciated by Natalya Komarova, Governor of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug-Yugra — the business’s experience in combatting COVID-19 having been included in the Okrug’s best-practice register.

“The company isn’t just putting effective barriers in place throughout its production facilities in order to combat infection. We are coordinating activities with local authorities, trying to respond quickly to the needs of medical agencies, and doing everything possible to contain the epidemic in the region. In the current environment, support is also needed in education. We’ve taken the necessary steps to provide that help.”

Notes for editors

* Gazprom Neft was the first oil company in Russia to take an open and transparent stance on working under the COVID-19 pandemic. To which end, the company’s “Antivirus” programme — based on identifying the key risks and establishing a system of barriers against any dissemination of the virus — was put in place in March 2020, with a range of initiatives being directed at protecting employees’ health, maintaining continuous production, and ensuring the company’s financial sustainability. In addition to which, Gazprom Neft has been providing assistance to residents — as well as to medical professionals and volunteers —throughout those locations in which it operates, delivering ventilators and scanners to hospitals, providing more than 2.7 million pieces of PPE, offering free servicing for emergency services vehicles, and providing free fuel for doctors and volunteer groups.
