The official opening ceremony for a new ice palace (stadium) built by Gazprom Neft as part of its “Home Towns” corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme takes place in Muravlenko in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. The new sports complex, complete with Olympic-size arena, will become the base for a branch of the Avangard children’s hockey academy, allowing hockey training, figure skating and short-track speed skating to be held year-round. In addition to the 400-seater ice rink, the two-storey building — with total floorspace of almost 6,000 square metres — hosts a gym and a choreography studio.
