Gazpromneft Aero begins fueling in Jamaica
Gazpromneft Aero, the operator of Gazprom Neft’s aviation fuel business, has begun fueling regular Transaero flights at Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, Jamaica.
The flights are performed between Sangster and Domodedovo International Airport, and use the Boeing 777-200 planes. Gazpromneft Aero’s partner in fueling operations in Jamaica is the international aviation fuel company Air Total International. The agreement for the integrated supply of aviation fuel signed by Gazpromneft Aero and Air Total International in 2011 allows the partners mutually use each other’s airports. Gazpromneft Aero CEO Vladimir Yegorov said, “Building retail sales abroad is one of Gazpromneft Aero’s strategic priorities. The company increased its aviation fuel sales abroad by over one and a half times from 2011 to 2012, up to 210,000 tons. Starting operations at one of the biggest airports in the Caribbean Basin is yet another step towards expanding Gazpromneft Aero’s geographic scope of operations on the international market.”
