Gazpromneft – Aero is a Gazprom Neft subsidiary. Since December, 2008, Gazpromneft – Aero has been a strategic partner of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) in aviation fuel supplies.
The Gazpromneft-Aero refuelling complex at the Sheremetyevo International Airport began operations in December 2012. The refuelling complex is a part of Sheremetyevo’s refuelling system and all technological equipment is fully automated. The storage facilities include four oil tanks with a total capacity of about 18,000 m³. In 2012, the infrastructure of the complex was expanded by constructing a refuelling point with a jet fuel capacity of 300 m³ per hour. The expansion included the purchase of 18 modern tankers and the issuing of licenses and the other approvals necessary for operations at Sheremetyevo.
The International Air Transport Association, IATA was formed on August 28, 1919 in the Hague (Netherlands) as an alliance of airlines under the name International Air Traffic Association. Its purpose was to organize safe, regular and cost-effective transportation of people and goods, as well as promote joint work of all involved in the international air transport industry. So far, the association coordinates and represents the interests of the air transport industry in areas such as safety, operations, tariff policy, maintenance, security, etc. Its members include nearly 300 airlines, which carry more than 90% of all international flights.
