Gazprom Neft and Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug sign partnership agreement for 2016–2020

Gazprom Neft and the Government of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug have signed a partnership agreement on further cooperation for 2016–2020. Signed by Gazprom Neft CEO Alexander Dyukov and Governor of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Region Dmitry Kobylkin, the agreement confirms both parties’ commitment to extending their mutually beneficial collaboration in the further economic development of the region and in improving the investment climate, as well as supporting social-economic programmes and coordinating initiatives to promote conditions conducive to hydrocarbon exploration and production throughout the Okrug.

Gazprom Neft is currently implementing a major investment programme — both onshore and offshore — within the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, with the commencement of commercial production at the Novoportovskoye and Messoyakhskoye fields in 2016 promising a positive impact on the region’s financial stability and prospects for development, as well as providing a major boost for associated major and medium-sized business. New extraction enterprises also promise new job opportunities in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, as well as greater tax contributions to the local budget.

In addition to this, Gazprom Neft is also continuing its “Home Towns” corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme throughout the region, with the company financing the construction of sports and educational facilities over the duration of the agreement — including multifunctional sports complexes in Noyabrsk and Salekhard, an ice rink and facilities in Labytnangi, a swimming pool and school in the Purovsk district, a general education complex in Muravlenko, and more.

Gazprom Neft CEO Alexander Dyukov commented: “The Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug is a longstanding strategic partner of Gazprom Neft. Our company is currently completing the establishment of a major new hydrocarbon production cluster in the region. The scale of these unique projects in the commercial development of the northern territories is also having a direct impact on life in the Okrug, allowing Yamal to develop improving living conditions.”

Noting the significance of these events in the context of the forthcoming 85th anniversary of the establishment of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, Governor Dmitry Kobylkin commented: “Gazprom Neft’s very effective engagement in Yamal, and its clear understanding of corporate social responsibility, means we can work together on developing the Okrug in the long term. The company’s projects don’t just give impetus to industrial and technological potential, but do also genuinely lead to improvements in the region’s social climate. Today’s agreement is just the next step in our mutually beneficial and longstanding cooperation.”
