The “Your Town in Your Own Hands” “project laboratory”, organised as part of the Gazprom Neft “Home Towns” corporate social responsibility (CSR) project is to take place in Khanty-Mansiysk for the first time in 2016. This educational programme is directed at training civic activists in project management, and in developing and supporting projects in neighbourhood enhancement initiatives.
Under the direction of the Strelka Institute for Media, Architecture and Design, acting as curator of the project laboratory, participants will work with cultural agencies throughout Khanty-Mansiysk with the aim of investigating opportunities for developing community facilities through which local residents can develop their own projects, throughout the city.
The project laboratory will operate until 20 October 2016, and will involve three stages — from research, through to development and implementation of ideas, through to the drafting of grant applications. More detailed information is available at: vk.com/make_ugra
The “Your Town in Your Own Hands” initiative is an experimental educational “project laboratory”, directed at supporting civic initiatives in neighbourhood enhancement, originally launched in Omsk in 2015. The project is managed by Gazprom Neft as part of its “Home Towns” corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme, together with the Strelka Institute for Media, Architecture and Design.
The “Home Towns” project brings together all corporate social responsibility (CSR) projects and initiatives implemented by Gazprom Neft throughout those regions in which the company operates. The programme is directed at establishing infrastructure to support children’s and public sports facilities, as well as initiatives in education, health, and in supporting the culture of the indigenous minorities of Northern Russia.
