Gazpromneft Lubricants — operator of the Gazprom Neft lubricants business — has commissioned the first rectangular storage tanks in Russia for base and market-grade oils. This new innovative construction makes it possible to optimise capacity while minimising floor space in storing oil products at the company’s Moscow lubricants plant, as well as increasing energy efficiency.
Enhancing the tank farm with an automated additive-dispensing system will increase productivity at the oil mixing facility, to 90,000 tonnes per year, as well as reducing operating costs and simplifying logistics. The project has been implemented as part of the plant’s modernisation programme.
Alexander Trukhan, CEO, Gazpromneft-Lubricants, commented:
“Our work is built on international best practices. Thanks to deep industry expertise, together with an innovative approach, our company is a market leader in terms of our enterprises’ technological equipment. This is the first time rectangular tanks have been used to optimise floorspace in oil-product storage. It’s important to point to better energy efficiency among the obvious pluses of this construction which, in turn, leads to a positive economic impact on the business. We are committed to continuing to modernise our assets, and to improving energy efficiency and environmental friendliness, in line with the company’s strategic priorities.”
