JSC Sibneft-Noyabrskneftegaz (the subsidiary of JSC Gazprom Neft) has extracted 1 additional million ton of oil due to the application of hydrofracturing technology (GRP) at horizontal wells.
In a period from 2005 to 2007 30 GRP operations took place at the horizontal wells of Noyabrskneftegaz.
The decision on application of hydrofracturing at horizontal wells was made because of insufficient increase in productivity factor after the hole clearing with a flexible oilwell tubing (GNKT) and acid treatments.
Pilot projects on application of technology were studied by experts of Noyabrskneftegaz together with Schlumberger and Halliburton. After development of the technical solution two pilot hydrofractures at Romanovskoe field were performed by TPDN Muravlenkovskneft. Results showed that the process gives an essential gain of efficiency - up to 2.5 times at the initial stages and up to 3 times after improvement of technology.
Engineers of Noyabrskneftegaz face new tasks now: research of the stimulated wells for revealing potential of further improvement of technology and achievement of higher efficiency.
