Moscow, 8 December 2000; Sibneft has appointed Andrei Matevossov to the new position of Vice President for Upstream Business Development. Andrei Matevossov will be responsible for spearheading the company’s vigorous expansion drive, combining new acquisitions with intensive investment in the development of new oil fields.
Andrei Matevossov previously served as general director of Sibneft’s Noyabrskneftegas production unit. He will be replaced by Mikhail Stavsky, formerly chief engineer of Noyabrskneftegas.
Sibneft president Eugene Shvidler welcomed the appointments of Andrei Matevossov and Mikhail Stavsky. “Andrei played a crucial role in the successful restructuring of our upstream operations, which led to a substantial improvement in profitability. His skills and experience will be vital to the success of our aggressive new growth strategy.”
