G-Drive Racing by Signatech Nissan Team hits high gear in “24 hours of Le Mans”

G-Drive Racing by Signatech Nissan Team, sponsored by G-Drive premium-class motor fuel brand of Gazpromneft retail network Open a new window, turned-in a good score in the legendary car race “24 hours of Le Mans”. The race took place in France on 16-17 June as a part of FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC).

G-Drive Racing by Signatech Nissan Team – Russian pilot-driver Roman Rusinov and his French team-mates Nelson Panciatici and Pierre Ragues – on Nissan race car finished the Le Mans racing in the top-ten of the overall classification and 4th in LMP2 category. The team has enjoyed unprecedented success and showed the best result ever achieved by the Russian racers in this most challenging 24-hours marathon.

“This was a fantastic race. I am quite satisfied with the result and the fact we didn’t take any “wrong turns” during the race. We worked flat out during these 24 hours. This continuous struggle to achieve victory turned out to be even more important to us than getting to the 4th finishing position. Our team is one of the leaders in its class and we have a lot to be proud of. It is the support of G-Drive, new generation petrol brand, that made this success possible”, Roman Rusinov said.

The racing season will last till November 2012; G-Drive Racing by Signatech Nissan Team will participate in 7 races of the Championship. Next time the team will test the limits of their abilities at 6H of Silverstone racing on August 26, 2012, conducted in Great Britain.

FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) Open a new window (WEC) — is one of the five major world races conducted by FIA (the Federation Internationale de L’Automobile) along with Formula 1 race. The Championship features 8 endurance races at three continents: Sebring (United States), Spa (Belgium), Le Mans (France), Silverstone (United Kingdom), Sao Paulo (Brazil), the Kingdom of Bahrain, Fuji (Japan), and Shanghai (China). The marathon 24 hour race at Le Mans, included in this year's WEC calendar, is one of the world's three most prestigious races, along with the Indy 500 and the Monaco Grand Prix.
