G-Drive Racing to enter two cars in 24 Hours of Le Mans and 2015 FIA World Endurance Championship

The Russian G-Drive Racing team, sponsored by Gazprom Neft’s premium fuel brand G-Drive, is entering two cars in the 2015 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), competing in the LMP2 class. The grid for the 2015 WEC and 24 Hours of Le Mans race was announced on 5 February at the annual FIA WEC press conference in Paris, where teams set out their stall for the upcoming motorsports season, announcing the details of their teams and builds, and unveiling their cars.

New G-Drive Racing design

This will be G-Drive Racing’s fourth appearance at the WEC. The 2014 season leader in terms of stage and pole position wins will continue to race as number 26. Roman Rusinov (Russia) and Julien Canal (France) were co-drivers during last year’s season, and 2015 sees the addition of Sam Bird (UK) to the crew. Adding extra heft to the team will be a second car, number 28, driven by Luís Felipe ‘Pipo’ Derani (Brazil), Gustavo Yacamán (Columbia) and Ricardo González (Mexico). The new design for the G-Drive Racing car was also revealed.

Gazprom Neft Regional Sales Director and Project Manager for G-Drive Racing Alexander Krylov commented: “Over this WEC season, G-Drive Racing will prove itself as worthy of silverware and a real leader. We have taken the decision to strengthen our position further and enter two G-Drive Racing cars into the championship. Our international team of excellent drivers is fully capable of achieving our goal: victory in 2015.”
