G-Energy Team wins Cross-country Rally World Cup

Russia’s G-Energy Team, driving a Mini All4 Racing and supported by the Gazprom Neft G-Energy premium oils brand, was the winner of this year’s Cross-country Rally World Cup, with a winning crew of Vladimir Vasilyev and Konstantin Zhiltsov.

The final, tenth stage of the marathon, Baja Portalegre, took place in Portugal, with sportsmen negotiating 418 kilometres at high speed, over a period of two days. The registered competitors list included 95 crews, including 12 pilots from the FIA priority drivers’ list.

Throughout the Cross-country Rally World Cup the G-Energy Team repeatedly demonstrated the best results across all races, thanks to which the Russian sportsmen found themselves, immediately before the start of the final stage, ahead of their nearest competitors by 20 points — a cumulative advantage which allowed the team to achieve a landslide victory.

Gazpromneft-Lubricants has, since early 2014, supported the G-Energy Team through a programme to develop motor-racing in Russia, providing its own-brand motor-racing lubricants and engine fluids for use in racing conditions. In 2013 the company became the first on the Russian market to develop and launch a specialist product line, G-Energy Racing, for all types of professional racing vehicles and today’s racing circuits.

Gazpromneft-Lubricants CEO Alexander Trukhan commented: “We congratulate the G-Energy Team on their amazing achievement! We have been monitoring team performance throughout the year as well as testing G-Energy motor oils, and I have no doubt that the excellent quality of the lubricants also contributed to the team achieving their excellent results!”

Vladimir Vasilyev added “This was a real test. We put the full one hundred percent into the final. But the outcome of the championship does point to the reliability of all of those processes for which G-Energy lubricants or engine fluids are used.”
