Gazpromneft Aero, operator of Gazprom Neft’s aviation fuel business, has facilitated delivery of the millionth tonne of non-domestic aviation fuel since its establishment — part of the company’s wing-tip refuelling services. This landmark delivery occurred at Noi Bai International Airport (Hanoi, Vietnam), in partnership with the Vietnamese state aviation fuel supplier, oil company Petrolimex, in the refuelling of a regular Aeroflot flight undertaken with a Boeing 777-300ER for a regular Aeroflot flight.
Gazpromneft Aero now supplies 24 Russian and international airlines, at 154 airports throughout more than 50 countries. The company’s partners encompass both Russian and international airlines, including Aeroflot, Transaero, S7, Nordwind, Air Astana, airBaltic and Tajik Air.
Refuelling of aircraft at airports outside of Russia is undertaken under agreements with local market-leading aviation fuel suppliers. In addition to this, Gazpromneft Aero has also entered into strategic agreements with the most significant players in the international aviation fuels market, Air Total International and Shell Aviation, in order that supplies can now be provided by those companies with which Gazpromneft Aero collaborates, at those airports in which these partners operate.
Gazpromneft Aero CEO Vladimir Egorov commented: “Supplying our millionth tonne of aviation fuel is one of the most significant milestones testifying to the strengthening of our company’s position in the aviation fuels market worldwide. Gazpromneft Aero’s strategy envisages the further expansion of our international airports network, allowing us to guarantee carriers convenient and swift refuelling throughout the world. We are diversifying our portfolio of aviation fuel suppliers as much as possible in order to expand the geographical reach of our business, and to strengthen our positions throughout the international market.”
Gazpromneft Aero is a subsidiary of Gazprom Neft. The company has been in business since 1 January 2008, specialising in aircraft refuelling and the “wing-tip” supply of aviation fuels. Gazpromneft Aero has been an aviation-fuel strategic partner of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) since December 2008.
