Gazprom Neft launches new high-performance fuel with an octane rating of 100

Gazprom Neft has begun selling a new high-tech premium fuel, G-Drive 100, at filling stations in Moscow, St Petersburg and Nizhny Novgorod, with the fuel expected to be available at Gazprom Neft filling station outlets in other Russian regions by the end of the year.

Producing this fuel, which has an octane rating of 100 without the use of octane-enhancing additives, has been made possible as a result of the implementation of the major modernisation project at the company’s Omsk Refinery, specifically the construction of an automated gasoline mixing facility, with the technologies involved making it possible to switch flexibly in producing gasoline of various formulations, in the shortest possible time.

This premium G-Drive 100 fuel, designed for modern engines with octane rating requirements of at least 95, has had its key performance characteristics confirmed by leading industry institution the All-Russia Research Institute for Oil Refining, and its compliance with European quality standards confirmed by leading international laboratory, SGS. The G-Drive 100 fuel has also been tested during trial runs by the G-Drive Racing team.

Anatoly Cherner, Deputy CEO for Logistics, Processing and Sales, Gazprom Neft, confirmed: “The commercial production of gasoline with an octane rating of 100, without the use of octane-enhancing additives, is further confirmation of the Omsk Refinery’s technological leadership. Equipping the enterprise with the most cutting-edge equipment as part of a major modernisation programme means Gazprom Neft can bring products of the highest quality to the Russian market.”

Alexander Krylov, head of the Gazprom Neft Regional Sales Directorate, added: “We tested the new G-Drive 100 fuel on racing cars under race conditions as well as on conventional cars, and it’s suitable for all modern gasoline engines. G-Drive 100 fuel has been sold at our stations in Eastern Europe for the last three years, where it has proved highly popular. I am delighted that Russian motorists will now be able to appreciate this high-tech fuel, feel the full power of their car, and get maximum pleasure from driving.”
