Gazprom Neft signs Memorandum of Cooperation with Kazakhstan Ministry of Transport and Communications Motor Roads Committee

Gazprom Neft and the Kazakhstan Ministry of Transport and Communications Motor Roads Committee have signed a memorandum of cooperation on the production and usage of bitumen for road construction in Kazakhstan.

The agreement envisages close cooperation between Gazprom Neft and the Committee to ensure the supply of high-quality bitumen-based materials for the road-construction industry in Kazakhstan. To that end the parties plan to cooperate more closely in the resourcing and sharing of information, to develop bitumen production in the Republic of Kazakhstan using cutting-edge technologies, and to ensure continuous improvement in the production and transportation of bitumen and related products.

The Gazprom Neft—Bitumen Kazakhstan LLP

Head of Gazprom Neft Commercial Directorate Levan Kadagidze commented: “Our company is recognized as a market leader in the production and sale of bitumen products throughout Russia and Kazakhstan. We are committed to building long-term partnerships with our customers, as well as with governmental agencies, in all those regions in which we operate. We are also noted for our use of advanced manufacturing technologies — with the high quality of our bitumen products consistently borne out by independent research. I am confident that the use of Gazprom Neft’s innovative production techniques will ensure the rapid development of the road-construction industry in Kazakhstan.”

Notes for editors

Gazprom Neft is one of the most significant producers and suppliers of bitumen products in Russia — a business line it has been developing since 2008. Company data for 2013 indicates Gazprom Neft has a 30-percent share of the Russian bitumen market, with sales of bitumen materials in the order of 1.8 million tonnes per year. At the end of December 2012 the company acquired a 280,000-tonne annual-capacity bitumen production facility in Shymkent, in Southern Kazakhstan. The Gazprom Neft—Bitumen Kazakhstan LLP facility (supplied with raw materials from the Gazprom Neft Omsk refinery) represents an entirely new technological complex, allowing the production of a wide range of bitumen products while ensuring the supply of high-quality bitumen products for those organizations involved in the construction and reconstruction of roads throughout Kazakhstan.
