Gazprom Neft continues its support for social development in the Orenburg Oblast

Press-release Partnership

Gazprom Neft has entered into a social and economic partnership agreement with the Government of the Orenburg Oblast for 2020/2022 — the signatories to the document being Gazprom Neft CEO and Chairman of the Management Board Alexander Dyukov, and Orenburg Oblast Governor Denis Pasler.

This three-year agreement outlines the key principles and the main areas of both parties’ collaboration in developing the region, with both having agreed to cooperate in implementing Gazprom Neft’s investment and corporate social responsibility (CSR) projects, and in working together on deploying promising production technologies and improving environmental friendliness in production in the Orenburg Oblast.

The document also reflects socially important initiatives to be implemented in the Orenburg Oblast in 2020, with Gazprom Neft’s involvement. The company will support social programmes of regional significance, as well as sports, educational and cultural programmes in Orenburg, and in the Oblast’s Novosergievsky, Perevolotsky and Orenburgsky districts. The agreement also provides for funds to be allocated to addressing issues in transport, and to providing targeted help to local municipalities.

Gazprom Neft will also finance a range of social and charitable projects in 2020 connected with the COVID-19 pandemic and directed at preventing its spread in and around Orenburg. These initiatives will supplement help in combatting coronavirus already being provided to the region under the company’s “Gazprom Neft for Medics” programme.*

“This new agreement continues our long-term strategic partnership with the Orenburg Oblast. We are not just successfully developing existing assets here, but are also implementing new projects, including developing a major geological prospecting cluster in the south—west of the Oblast, as well as preparing hard-to-recover reserves for development at Domanic deposits. In developing its investment projects, Gazprom Neft always makes a major contribution to improving living standards for the people living in the locations in which it operates. This is already part of our company’s DNA. And we are implementing a whole range of sports, educational and cultural initiatives — as well as infrastructure projects — in the Orenburg Oblast, all of which are directed at making life more comfortable and more interesting in multiple population centres in and around Orenburg. This new agreement with the Oblast Government outlines the priorities for our CSR investments over the next few years.”

“Gazprom Neft is one of the key businesses in the region’s fuel and energy industry, implementing a major production-investment programme and investing heavily in social projects. The business’s ongoing involvement in social and economic development in the locations in which it operates, and in the region, as a whole, means, more than anything else, investing in people and in living standards for Orenburg residents. A socially responsible approach to business is particularly important at the moment, when our resources are being directed at combatting the coronavirus epidemic. Gazprom Neft is a reliable partner to the region both in addressing this immediate challenge, and in the Orenburg Oblast’s long-term development.”
