Gazprom Neft delivers a 26% increase in H1 2021 sales of premium lubricants

Gazpromneft-Lubricants, operator of Gazprom Neft’s lubricants business, delivered a 26% increase in sales of its G-Energy- and Gazpromneft-branded motor oils and industrial packaged oils in H1 2021, reaching 170,000 tonnes. Total oil and lubricant production and sales volumes were up three percent, at 280,000 tonnes. More than 65% of all high-performance products (180,000 tonnes) went to the domestic Russian market. Sales of lubricants abroad increased by nine percent, to 100,000 tonnes.

“The positive trend seen since early 2021 has been secured by actively expanding our geographic sales coverage, in both Russia and abroad. Supplies were initiated to 14 new countries — including Austria, Guinea, Canada, Qatar and Saudi Arabia — in the first half of this year, alone. Gazprom Neft lubricants are now available in 102 countries worldwide, and at 350 international ports. In addition to which, we are also expanding product sales through digital channels — online stores and marketplaces — where sales are up 14%.”

Gazprom Neft has begun construction of a hydro-isodewaxing complex at its Omsk Refinery in order to expand its product range. The complex will produce base materials for producing high-tech synthetic lubricants (used on modern automotive vehicles and engineering, as well as industrial machinery), allowing the company to terminate the use of imported base oils in producing premium products completely. The facility has a design capacity of 220,000 tonnes per year.
