Gazprom Neft and IKS Holding have established a joint venture to develop digital products for the oil and gas industry, and to introduce these to oil and gas markets in Russia and abroad.
The relevant documentation for this had previously been signed at the St Petersburg International Economic Forum, by Andrey Belevtsev, Chief Digital Officer, Gazprom Neft, and Igor Gorkov, CEO, Nexign (part of IKS-Holding).
The new enterprise’s development strategy will focus on addressing the challenges of digital transformation in the oil and gas industry, through the use of Industry 4.0 technologies. Future projects include a system to support investment decision making in working with oil and gas fields, computer-vision supported industrial safety solutions, and an integrated modelling process-automation tool for production assets.
Gazprom Neft specialists will provide industry-specific expertise, as well as testing new technological developments at production assets, while Nexign (part of IKS-Holding) will be involved in introducing software product development processes, as well as putting together teams of developers.
About 150 employees will be involved in addressing technological tasks throughout 2020, with headcount expected to increase as the business develops. Experts from IKS-Holding’s various IT companies will also be recruited to the project, to ensure full support for new developments and their effective introduction to companies’ business processes.
«We are focussed on developing and marketing products for major industrial clients. We will strengthen cooperation with Russian enterprises and, subsequently, initiate activity in international markets. The company can, already, see an opportunity in engaging major partners from the industrial sector, to that end».Eduard Ashrafyan CEO of the joint venture
«Developing digital solutions, scalable throughout the entire industry, has become yet another area in our company’s business development. This new enterprise will facilitate the scaling-up of developments created in conjunction with our partners thanks to unique expertise in the digital transformation of major industrial assets».Andrey Belevtsev Chief Digital Officer, Gazprom Neft
«We have every confidence that Nexign’s successful experience in bringing high-tech products to the international market will help this new venture. This is a very interesting experiment for me in implementing our knowledge and skills in what is a new industry for us, and I am glad that our company’s long-term expertise in creating complex business support systems is in demand not just within our traditional telecommunications industry».Igor Gorkov CEO, Nexign
«In addition to the solutions listed above, we also see interest from big business in automating processes such as field-data verification and filtering, virtual flow measurement, nodal well analysis, production profile calculations over 90-day integrated operating plans, status monitoring, and predicting failure in electrically driven centrifugal pumps. There’s also considerable potential for a product for configuring resource plans for oil-production network development projects, and for monitoring total resource requirements».Yulia Shutkina Vice President, IKS-Holding
