Gazprom Neft joins the Joint Inspection Group (JIG), the world-leading organisation for the development of aviation fuel-supply standards

Gazpromneft-Aero, operator of the Gazprom Neft aviation refuelling business, has become the first Russian company to join the Joint Inspection Group (JIG) — the world-leading organisation for aviation fuel-supply standards, specialising in developing standards throughout the entire logistics chain, from refinery to wing-tip.

More than 40% of all aviation fuels sold worldwide are now compliant with JIG standards. Members of the association include the world’s leading oil companies and fuel suppliers, including Total, BP, Shell, CNAF and Eni, as well as aviation-refuelling service operators. In addition to developing international standards the JIG is also responsible for training inspectors and inspecting (auditing) airports’ aviation refuelling infrastructure consistent with these.

“Being part of the JIG gives Gapzromneft-Aero the opportunity to develop new industry standards on an equal footing with aviation-refuelling global market leaders. We are keen to implement and roll-out cutting-edge production solutions and international best practices to improve overall safety levels in air transport, across all Russian market participants. Operating as part of the JIG will also allow us to demonstrate our own technological solutions in aviation refuelling — including digital initiatives directed at improving speed and efficiency — to international partners.”
