Gazprom Neft resumes refuelling flights to Egyptian resorts

Gazpromneft-Aero, operator of the Gazprom Neft aviation refuelling business, has begun refuelling international flights to Egyptian tourist destinations, including Sharm El-Sheik and Hurghada, under an agreement with Egypt’s national fuel supplier, Misr Petroleum.

This new agreement forms part of a partnership in place with Misr Petroleum since 2009. Over that time total deliveries of aviation fuel for servicing Russian and international air carriers’ flights throughout Egypt’s eight international airports have now reached more than 180,000 tonnes.

“We’re counting on the gradual resumption of international air travel, and stand ready to start offering ‘wing-tip’ refuelling services for both our partners in Russia, and those abroad. Q1 2021 has already seen Gazpromneft-Aero resuming services for Russian air carriers in the UAE and Cyprus. With flight programmes now opening for popular tourist resorts in Egypt we expect an increase in passenger traffic and in the number of flights from Russia, over the next few months.”
