Installation of integrated large-scale equipment for a new catalytic reforming unit is now complete at Gazprom Neft’s Omsk Refinery. Modernising this facility is expected to lead to a 1.5-fold increase in the production of high-octane gasoline components. Total investment in the project is expected to reach RUB9.7 billion. Work is being undertaken as part of the major modernisation programme being undertaken by Gazprom Neft at its Omsk Refinery since 2008.
A Uralhimmash-produced column — at 37 metres in height,* and weighing more than 100 tonnes — was the last of 12 pieces of major equipment to be installed at the complex. This equipment has been designed to remove associated fractions in final product purification. Modernising the catalytic reforming facility forms part of a comprehensive plan under the federal “Clean Air” project. Thanks to breakthrough domestic technologies the environmental impacts of production will be further reduced.
«The modernisation of the catalytic reforming unit is being managed using cutting-edge solutions. As much as 90 percent of the equipment installed during reconstruction has been produced at domestic enterprises. In nurturing consistent and stable demand for Russian technologies the Omsk Refinery is acting as a driver in developing heavy engineering and a range of related industries».Oleg Belyavsky General Director, Gazprom Neft Omsk Refinery
«Cooperation with the Omsk Refinery is one of Uralhimmash’s priority areas of activity. Our two businesses have a longstanding history of cooperation. Every one of our joint projects are based on using the latest technologies, effective engagement, and a commitment to working towards the joint development of our businesses».Alexander Maximov General Director, Uralhimmash
Gazprom Neft is currently involved in a full-scale modernisation programme at its Omsk refinery, involving, cumulative investment of more than RUB300 billion. The first stage of this modernisation has involved the construction and reconstruction of key technological facilities, allowing the complete transition to the production of Euro-5 fuels, significantly improving energy efficiency and environmental friendliness in production. The implementation of the second phase of the modernisation programme is now ongoing, as a result of which refining depth and the production of light petroleum products will increase to match the highest international standards.
Uralhimmash PJSC is one of Russia’s leading domestic equipment suppliers for the petrochemical and oil refining industries, as well as for businesses in the chemicals, ferrous- and non-ferrous-metallurgy, nuclear and traditional energy, and construction industries. Thanks to its productive collaboration with the Omsk Oil Refinery, Uralhimmash (the Urals chemical machine-building plant) is steadily strengthening its presence in the oil and gas equipment market.
