Gazprom Neft to develop a Russian resources-management industry platform with software developer 1C

Press-release Technology Partnership

Gazprom Neft and software developer 1C have agreed to jointly develop business-process automation solutions based around the Russian 1C platform, under a Memorandum signed at the 2021 St Petersburg International Economic Forum. The signatories to the document were Alexei Yankevich (Deputy CEO for Economics and Finance, Gazprom Neft) and Boris Nuraliev (CEO, 1C).

The purpose of the partnership between Gazprom Neft and 1C is to create a Russian industry-wide multi-functional ERP-class resource-management platform for Gazprom Neft subsidiaries. The company’s ERP strategy is aimed at automating and unifying business processes relating to project management, strategic planning, logistics, electronic document management, and personnel management. To address these problems a cross-functional team has developed a corporate template on the 1C platform (named “Sherpa”, short for ERP-“shablon” (template)). One thousand five hundred users across 13 Gazprom Neft Group enterprises are now using this template. It is planned to roll-out the system across 50 company subsidiaries in due course.

“This is the first time in Russia’s oil industry that such a major ERP project — and one so wide-ranging in its functionality — has been implemented on a modern, Russian-developed platform. Gazprom Neft is always working to improve the flexibility and financial sustainability of its business, which is why we are focussed on putting in place cohesive solutions for group enterprises. I am confident that deploying 1C-based ERP systems will allow us to improve efficiency in planning and managing financial processes, and in developing an industry-wide platform solution, going forward.”

“We appreciate our Gazprom Neft colleagues’ readiness to collaborate, and anticipate that joint development of the industry-wide 1C:ERP Sherpa corporate template will make it possible to develop a multifunctional solution for vertically integrated oil companies, meeting the latest requirements. We are ready to put 1C’s experience to use in developing commercial ERP systems for major organisational structures.”
