Gazpromneft-Lubricants has begun the automated first-filling of Mercedes-Benz trucks at the Mercedes-Benz Trucks Vostok production line, Naberezhnye Chelny. The refuelling complex facilitates the first-filling (and automatic accounting of) more than 3,000 litres of lubricants and engine fluids per day, allowing the servicing of roughly 300 car chassis per shift.
Lubricants and engine fluids supplied to the Mercedes-Benz Trucks Vostok production line are produced at Gazprom Neft’s own factories, and meet the highest international production-quality standards.
Implementation of this project has also seen Gazpromneft-Lubricants develop a unique service, involving the purchase, storage, and delivery of products: a system further distinguished by optimum process automation, and maximum simplicity and efficiency in data transfer — fundamental to the development of further production and logistical solutions. All of which allows the uninterrupted supply of essential lubricants and engine fluids to the production line — something particularly important in assembly-line production.
Gazpromneft-Lubricants CEO Alexander Trukhan commented: “Cooperation with car manufacturers is one of Gazpromneft-Lubricants’ most important — and promising — priorities. A key principle underpinning this is a tailored approach for each individual partner, and for the specific requirements of that business. The unique technical and logistical solutions we developed in the course of automating production-line first-filling for the Mercedes-Benz Trucks Vostok plant is a prime example of this. We place a very high value on winning the confidence of a world-leading car manufacturer, and are certain that the quality of our lubricants and the level of service we deliver will command an increasingly higher value on the domestic and international markets.”
Carsten Bothmann, CEO Mercedes-Benz Trucks Vostok added: “Our joint enterprise in the production of heavy-goods and other specialist Mercedes-Benz vehicles at Naberezhnye Chelny is already into its fifth year, with the 7,000th vehicle coming off the production line in September 2014. Gazpromneft-Lubricants has made a major contribution to this, with closer cooperation in the supply of oils and engine fluids to the Mercedes-Benz Trucks Vostok assembly line allowing us to make the production process more local and meet the necessary performance targets, on schedule. Starting up a tailor-made refuelling complex on our production line is fully consistent with the high quality standards of assembly-line production under the Mercedes-Benz brand, and allows the implementation of cutting-edge automation and logistical solutions in production processes.”
