New CEO Appointed at Gazprom Neft Moscow Refinery

The new CEO at the Gazprom Neft Moscow Refinery has been named as Vitaly Zuber. Arkady Egizarjyan, CEO of the enterprise since 2010, moves to the Gazprom Neft Corporate Headquarters, where he will be responsible for key projects on the digital transformation of the company’s Logistics, Processing and Sales Division.

Anatoly Cherner, First Deputy CEO for Logistics, Processing and Sales, Gazprom Neft PJSC, commented: “Senior management at the Moscow Refinery have achieved great things on an environmentally-friendly modernisation programme unprecedented in the industry, with the plant transferring to the production of Euro-5 fuels three years ahead of the regulatory deadline, consistently meeting more than a third of the capital’s market requirements. A project involving the construction of a modern biological wastewater treatment facility has also been successfully completed. Together with regulatory agencies, work is continuing on developing an automated ambient air-quality monitoring system (AAQMS), set to become the benchmark for the entire industry. Under Arkady Egizarjyan’s leadership the Moscow Refinery has become a market leader in applying cutting-edge environmental protection solutions, and an industry-wide platform for the implementation of the best technologies available. His skills and competencies in managing change will now be in great demand in addressing the challenges of the digital transformation of Gazprom Neft’s business in terms of logistics, processing and sales. Vitaly Zuber, with extensive experience in managing major refining facilities will, as CEO of the Moscow Refinery, continue work on further improving the operational efficiency and technological modernisation of the plant. I have every confidence that under his leadership the Moscow Refinery will successfully complete its modernisation programme and become one of the best businesses in the industry.”

Born in 1974, Vitaly Zuber graduated from the Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas, specialising in the chemical technology of natural energy sources and carbon materials. . On leaving higher education he worked at the Gazprom Neft Moscow Refinery in various roles, from process unit operator to becoming chief engineer at the plant. From 2011 he held various managerial positions at TNK-BP, including Head of Refining and Vice President, Commercial Activities, before heading the Novokuibyshevsk Refinery from 2013 to February 2018.
