Moscow. November 11, 2005. Sibneft today named Sergey Rusakov as the new general director of its main production subsidiary, Sibneft-Noyabrskneftegas. Mr Rusakov previously served as Noyabrskneftegas’ first deputy general director and chief engineer. His appointment follows the resignation earlier this month of former director and Sibneft vice president Mikhail Stavskiy.
“Sergey Rusakov’s professionalism and his many years of experience at the company will provide Noyabrskneftegas with continuity in its production strategy and the impetus to reach a whole new level of stable growth,” said acting Sibneft president Alexander Ryazanov.
Sergey Rusakov was born on June 2, 1961 in the village of Lamenka in the Golyshman district of Tyumen region. He graduated with a mining engineering degree from the Tyumen Industrial Institute in 1983, with a specialization in oil and gas field development technology.
From 1983 through 1996, Mr Rusakov worked in the Kholmogorneft production unit of Noyabrskneftegas, starting as an operator and rising to become head of its oil and gas production department. In the years 1996-1998, he served as deputy chief engineer for production and head of the engineering-technology service at Noyabrskneftegas. He subsequently headed Kholmogorneft before becoming chief engineer and first deputy general director of Noyabrskneftegas. In 2003, he was recognized by the state as an “Honored Oilman”.
